Born on September 4, 1956 in Anniston, she was the youngest of seven children born to the late James Tolliver, Sr. and the late Queenie Tolliver.

Cheryl’s journey was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to her community. A proud graduate of Anniston High School, Class of 1974, Cheryl shone as a cheerleader and an esteemed member of the National Honor Society. Her pursuit of higher education led her to Tuskegee University, where she pledged allegiance to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Gamma Kappa Chapter in the Fall of 1975. Cheryl’s spiritual journey unfolded at All Saints Catholic Church, where she dedicated her adult life to various roles, including Operation Manager of the Altar, Parish Council Member, Ladies Rosary Altar Society, and Event Planner of Kitchen Operations. In retirement, Cheryl extended her nurturing spirit to the Cuddler program, providing comfort to infants at risk for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) at the RMC OB unit.

At the graduate level, Cheryl joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Iota Mu Omega Chapter in Anniston. A Silver Star with over 25 years of service to the sorority, Cheryl epitomized graciousness as a hostess and served diligently on the social, hospitality, and welfare committees.
