God called Mr.Elisha Thomas to his eternal rest on February 5, 2019. He was born in Sylacauga, AL on June 9, 1930 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher (Rosia Lee) Thomas, Sr. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Thomas; a sister Mary Elizabeth Thomas; his twin brother Elijah Thomas; his parents Fletcher Thomas Sr. and Rosia Lee Thomas; and his wife Joetta Elston Thomas.
Mr. Thomas confessed Christ at an early age and united with St. Thomas United Methodist Church, Sylacauga, AL. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. After returning from the Navy, Mr. Thomas completed his high school education at East Highland High School.
He was previously married to Cumia Thomas Marbury; to that marriage 3 daughters were born. At the time of his death, he was a member of Haven United Methodist Church, Anniston, AL, and served faithfully until his health began to deteriorate.
His memories will be forever cherished by his children, Geraldine Thomas of Tuskegee, AL, Zandra Gilder of Sylacauga, AL, Gwendolyn Gray, Nathaniel Elston, Sr., Teresa Ross, Rufus Elston and Twauna LaCount all of Anniston, AL; brother, Fletcher Thomas, Jr. of Opelika, AL; sisters, Gloria Jeanice Threatt of Sylacauga, AL, Evelyn Thomas (Robert) Millender of Moss Point, MS., a host of grandchildren, great-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
