On June 20, 2017, Francine Bishop, aged 63, entered into her eternal rest peacefully at home in Talladega, AL after several years of battling multiple health conditions. She was born March 5, 1954, to Willie Mae Bishop and Walt Cochran in Talladega, AL.
Ms. Bishop strongly believed in trusting God and putting Him first. She attended Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served on the Matron’s Committee. Later, her membership transferred to Tabernacle of Praise, PFC, Inc., where she served on the Mother’s Board until her health waned.
Ms. Bishop received her education in the Talladega City School System. She also attended Job Corps and received a nursing certificate. Ms. Bishop was employed at Alabama Industries for the Blind (AIDB) for almost 40 years until her health declined. She was a seamstress there and eventually promoted to a supervisory position.
Ms. Bishop was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae Bishop and Walt Cochran; one brother, Demark Bishop; one sister, Mary Bishop; and one to whom she was like a daughter, Gladys Lindsey.
