Mae Frances (Prater) Robbins

Mae Frances Prater Robbins was born December 5, 1930 to the late Mr. John Collie Prater and Mrs. Frances Alberta Prater.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Thankful Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Steve Robinson. Mae served in many capacities including, Primary Sunday School Teacher, choir member, VBS Director, President of the Missionary Society and Matron Counselor. She was also active in the Wills Creek District as Wills Creek District Laboratory School Director. She was active in her community and volunteered at the nursing home. She was widely known for her generosity and kind spirit.

She was married to Deacon Elmar Robbins, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Mary Quenell Robbins Ammons (Joe) of Roanoke, Alabama and Belinda Robbins of Piedmont, Alabama; two sisters, Johnnie Mae Prater of Attalla, Alabama and Patsy Pope (Sam) of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, David Prater (Liz) and James Prater (Pearl), both of Cleveland, Ohio; a loving brotherin-law, Sydney Hutchinson (Rhoda) of Huntsville, Alabama; three grandchildren, Kannyetta Ammons of Huntsville, Alabama, Shandelon Ammons of Hoover, Alabama and Brandelon Ammons of Oxford, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and extended family members.
