Professor Hank Jones

Professor “Hank” Jones was born in Gadsden, Alabama. He was one of ten children that blessed the union of Jessie and Mary Jones. Hank received his formal education in the Gadsden City School System. Mr. Jones departed this life journey Sunday, June 3, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Jones; mother, Mary Jones; sister, Bonnie Miller; brothers, Bobby Jones and Russell Jones.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: a son, Jeffery Taylor; a daughter, Shereka Taylor, Anniston, Alabama; three grandchildren, La’Dorian Wilson, Ja’Torrian Taylor and JaAsyia Lindsey; three sisters, Jessica (Charles) Staples, Fayettville, Georgia, Annette (Douglas) Stephens and Yolanda Jones, Gadsden, Alabama; three brothers, Preston Jones, Fred Jones and Jessie Jones, Jr., all of Gadsden, Alabama; brother-in-law, Gregory Miller, Gadsden, Alabama, aunts, Maggie Minnifield, Dayton, Ohio and Eloise Jones, Gadsden, Alabama; an uncle, William Jones, Gadsden, Alabama; a very special niece and caregiver, Octavia “Punkin” Jones; a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
