Veona (White) Monroe

Veona Monroe begin life's journey on July 29, 1914, born tothe parentage of Mr. & Mrs. J.C. & Carrie White in Eutaw, Alabama. She gave her life to Christ early in life under the leadership of Rev. White at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

She was a loving, faithful, God-fearing and hard-working woman. She worked as the "Head Cook" for many years with the Anniston City School System. She also worked as the "Director of the Kitchen" at Camp Cottaquilla every summer until she was contacted to say, "Mrs. Monroe, job well done". 

Her favorite thing to do was to catch a good yard sale. She would wake up early every Saturday morning, pick up her "crew", and they would spend the entire day going around the county searching for bargains at Trade Day or finding a yard sale.She would shop for family, friends, neighbors or anyone that she thought could use it.

On May 29, 2017, Mrs. Monroe was called home. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and a son. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughters, Marva Billingsley and Ollie Cunningham; one son, Calvin (Janet); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; six great, great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
