Willie Lee Miller

Willie Lee Miller, Sr. was born on May 3, 1936 in Talladega County, Alabama to the parentage of Robert Miller, Sr. and Nannie Mae Miller. He confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Willie Lee was employed at Wood Specialty Company and later retired from U.S. Pipe Shop. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved the Atlanta Braves and Auburn football.

On August 25, 1957, Willie Lee was united in holy matrimony to Mary P. Moss. to this union, eight children were born, five sons and three daughters. On Sunday, November 12, 2017, Willie Lee Miller, Sr. departed this life at his residence in Silver Run, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nannie Miller; two sons, Willie Anthony “Tony” Miller and Herbert Earl “Frog” Miller”; three brothers, Robert “Rusty” Miller, Edward “Red” Miller and Sherman Miller; three sisters, Evelyn Jemison, Marion Bell and Oradyne Archie.

Willie Lee leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of sixty years, Mary P. Miller; three sons, Willie Lee “Tracy” Miller, Jr. (Tawanda), Steven Miller and Norman Miller; three daughters, Jacqueline Annette Tatum (Michael), Regina Lynn Peters (Michael) and Marcia Yvette Wood (Jimmy); three sisters, Georgia Mae Brown, Susie Mae Bush (Robert) and Alva Lee Chatman; three sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Miller, Johnnie Mae Miller and Ivalene Glass; twenty-six grandchildren, Shaun Miller, Sharonda Berry (Michael), Marcus Mosley, Corderell Miller, Steven Miller, Shavon Cunningham, Justin Boozer, Jimmy Wood, Jr., Trayon miller, Quinderis Wood, Porcha Brewster, Kala Montgomery, Kalon Maffett, Marticia Jackson, Demonza Miller, Nicolette Maffett, Kaitlyn Miller, Nolan Miller, Shania Miller, Abigail Miller, Allen Tatum (Jalainna), Quintin Prothro (Stephanie), Tyrone Prothro (Sidnie), Breanna Davis, Mekale Peters and Shandred Peters Lauderdale; fifteen great grandchildren, Seklyah Jackson, Ashauria Miller, Sekuria Miller, A ’myah Berry, Marcus Mosley, Jr., Giuna Mosley, Meigna Miller, Ma’Kni Miller, Kason Patton, Jordan Boozer, Zoelyn Boozer, Chelsea Wood, Zarriah Tumpling, Jayveon Heard and Jaxon Wood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
