Billy Stevens was born on April 24, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama to the parentage of Kenner and Bertha Stevens. He accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at an early age.

Billy attended Cobb High School, where he lettered in football and won "Best Dressed". He graduated from the Cobb High School Class of 1973. From therem, he attended Jacksonville State University and pursued a degree in Sociology. Even though he was disabled, throughout the years, he served as a Correctional Officer in Atlanta, Georgia; a Teacher's Assistant at Headstart;he worked at Cable One and Regional Medical Center.

On Monday, November 9, 2015, he answered the Master's call at the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. God in His special way, at His perfect time, picked from our midst this sweet soul and added him to His Heavenly garden. Loving memories will always remain with: his mother, Bertha; his loving wife, Shurbie; his two children, Billy(Michelle) Calloway and Tameca (Andrew) Kirksey; his siblings, Willie Ed (Elsie) Stevens, Geralean (James) Fuller, Kenneth (Regina) Stevens; four greandchildren; four great-grandchildern; and a host of other relatives and friends.
