Brenda Jefferson was born on December 19, 1963 to the parentage of Tellis and Roberta Cowden. Brenda confessed to Christ at an early age and joined the Washington Heights Baptist Church.

Brenda was educated in the Calhoun County School System and received her diploma from Saks High School in 1982. After graduation, Brenda joined the workforce. She worked for Beverly Healthcare for 34 years.

She was happily married to Curtis Jefferson until he became ill and passed away.

On November 10, 2024, Brenda departed this life at the Northeast Alabama Regional Center. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Tellis and Roberta Cowden; one sibling, Tellis Cowden, Jr; and one grandson, Quinterrius Hutchings.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her children, Neketia (Clint) Cowden, Amelia (Josh) Hutchings, and Gerald Hutchings; two stepchildren, Alex and Charles Jefferson; her siblings, Calvin (Tania) Freeman and Leroy (Twana) Cowden; her grandchildren, Kierston Cox, Terence Bynum and Jerrell Hutchings; and a host of other relatives and friends.
