Mr. Charles Edward "Bobby" Powel, Sr. was born on May 19, 1938 in Anniston, Alabama to the parentage of Paul and Victoria Powell. At an early age, Bobby united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated through the Anniston Cithy School system. Immediately after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired in 1977 as a Master Sergeant.

Bobby was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Willie Paul Powell and George Powell; and two sisters, Elnora Ross and Mattie Toney. Loving memories will always be cherished by: his son, Charles E. Powell, Jr. of Kent Washington; his daugter, Tina Briley of Anchorage, Alaska; his sisters, Iola Abney, Julia Johnson, both of Anniston, Alabama, Equilla Woods, Francella Boyd, both of Chicago, Illinois and Ruby Woods of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
