Obituary

Clara Harris Swain, age 91, transitioned at Greene County Nursing Home in Eutaw, AL, on May 31, 2024. She served as a home care provider for five children. She worked as the office manager for Swain and Son Construction Company for many years. Mrs. Swain loved helping others in her many years in Anniston, AL. She loved participating in activities at the nursing home after moving there for care and support.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Maria A. Revell, Dr. Marcia A. Pugh, Dr. Deborah S. Moore, Del Mesha D. Swain, and Calvester Swain II. Her grandchildren include Tamiya Smith, Tasha Ceass, Dr. Nakieta Lankster, Barrown Lankster II, Riley Moore, Cortney Moore, the late Dominic Broadus II, Alauna Broadus, Aaron Rainey, Calvester Swain III, and Micah Swain. Her great grandchildren include Thomas Smith, Eli Ceass, Caden Moore, and Madysen Lankster. She has two great-great grandsons, Zeref Night and Caiden Broadus.

She is also remembered by her brother Thomas Harris. Those with fond memories include many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christine Hall Harris, and Robert Samuel Harris; sisters, Dorothy Borden, and Lenora Harris; and brother Robert Samuel Harris, Jr.

Graveside services will take place at Edgemont Cemetery, Anniston, AL. on June 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. CST.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS PLEASE MAKE DONATIONS TO GREENE COUNTY NURSING HOME. 509 Wilson Avenue, Eutaw. AL 35462, where many of her friends still reside.
