Clarence Edward Perry was born on June 6, 1951 in Anniston, Alabama to the parentage of the late James and Olar Perry. He was the sixth of eight children.

Clarence joined Murray Temple C.M.E. Church at an early age where his entire family were members. He attended church faithfully until he went off to college. Clarence graduated from Cobb Avenue High School in Anniston, Alabama in the class of 1969. He completed his college education with a degree in Computer Science at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington DC in 1973. He was a part of a co-op program with the United States Department of the Navy.

His first job after college was with the United States Department of the Navy in Bethesda, Maryland, where he was a Senior Computer Programmer for 25 years. Once he retired, he moved back to Anniston to help care for his mother. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia to live with his sister until his passing on Sunday, October 20, 2024. He was a man who loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. He was very quiet but always talked about the soap operas-especially "The Young and The Restless" with anyone that called the house. He loved watching sports, including his favorite team, The Atlanta Falcons. He kept in contact with all his co-workers from the Department of the Navy-Tina, Deborah, and Brenda.

He was preceded in death by: his father, James Leo Perry, Sr.; his mother, Olar Perry; his brothers, James Leo, Jr., Wilbert, Charles Stanley, and Odell.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Fannie P. Stockdale of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Aaron (Florence) Perry of Bowie, Maryland and Oliver (Mamie) Perry of Boston, Massachusetts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. His favorite nephews who helped take care of him were DeAaron and Terry. His favorite niece, Patricia, stopped by every day to prepare his lunch and dinner and talk about "The Young and The Restless". His favorite cook, Alan (Patricia's husband), prepared food every week to make sure he had a balanced nutritional meal. All of his sister's friends and sorority sisters would call and check on Clarence, which made his day. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
