Mrs. Claudie Dell Stitts was born on June 8, 1926 to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Griffie in Piedmont, Alabama. Sheconfessed Christ and united with the Thankful Baptist Church in Piedmont.

She departed this life on Novwember 20, 2013 at the Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston, Alabama. She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Evie Griffie; five brothers, Emmitt, Jess, James, Frank and Bill Griffie. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, William Stitts of Piedmont, Alabama; six children, Franklin Griffie, Larry Stitts, Don Stitts, all of Piedmont, Alabama, Mike Stitts of Decatur, Alabama, Glenda Stitts of Hampton, Virginia and William Stitts, Jr. of Piedmont, Alabama; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
