Obituary

Mr. Clyde Woodard was born April 6, 1943 in Weaver, Alabama to the parentage of Robert Bowers and Evelyn Woodard. He confessed Christ and united wth the Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education in Calhoun County, where he graduated from Calhoun County Training School in 1962 and later from Gadsden State Junior College on June 4,1978.

He met and married Margaret Ann Richey on April 6, 1972, and to this union two children were born. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1972. He retired from the Department of Army Federal Services on July 2, 1999. He worked with the Anniston Housing Authority from August 1, 1977 to August 1, 1988, where he served one term as chairman.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Woodard Bowers; his father, Robert Bowers; his sisters, Martha Green, Mary Newell and Margaret Louise Heard; his brothers, Mike Edmondson, Wilbur Edmondson and John Andrew; and a special uncle, Alfred Stevenson. Loving memories will always remain with: his loving and devoted wife, Margaret Woodard of Anniston, Alabama; his daughter, Latress Woodard of Anniston, Alabama; his son, Curtis (Sharon) Woodard of Columbia, South Carolina; his grandson, James Brown; his sister, Hazel Moore of Jacksonville, Alabama, Vergie (Eugene) Robinson, Katherine Woodard, both of Oxford, Alabama and Mildred Whitfield of Moreno Valley, California; his brothers, Andrew Woodard of Kansas City, Missouri, Clavis Bowers of Jacksonville, Alabama and Billy (Joan) Woodard of Aberdeen, Maryland; his aunt, Catherine Moore of Jacksonville, Alabama; his sister-in-law, Alice J. Edmondson of Anniston, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and life long friends.
