Dennis Carter, Sr. began his life's journey on December 8, 1936 in Anniston, Alabama. He was born to the parentage of Mr. Willie Carter, Sr. and Cora Carter.

Dennis professed his life to Christ and at an early age was baptized aand united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He was past Chairman of the Deacon Board, President of the Choir, the Usher Board, the Layman's Ministry and other ministries until his health began to fail.

Dennis attended Cobb High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. He was dedicated to the Anniston High School Bulldogs and didn't miss a game. He loved football, basketball, baseball, and all other sports. He supported his children and grandchildren when they played sports. He also loved to play spades, checkers and dominos. He also loved to garden and always had the prettiest flowers. He was a hard worker and retired from Union Foundry after 47 years.

Through all of the ups and downs, Dennis continued to fight and never gave up. On May 7, 2016, God gently closed his eyes. Memories of Dennis will forever remain with: his children, Dennis Patirck (Tracy) Carter of Anniston, Alabama, Brena (John) Tyner of Alexandria, Alabama, Clifton (Cherita) Finley and Cedric Finley, both of Anniston, Alabama; his siblings, Roy Carter, Sr. of Phoenix, AZ, William Frankie (Everetta) Carter of Chicago, Illinois, Sylvia Lee (Rev. Frank) Thomas of Oxford, Alabama, Macy Carter, Barbara Carter, Debra Ann Harvey, Rossana (Charlie) Carter, Yvonne Armstrong, all of Anniston, Alabama and Norma Jean (Rev. Earl) Montgomery of Saks, Alabama; ten grandchildren, Carlos (Princess) Carter, Epyhani Simon, Antonio Henderson, Demarrius Finley, Calia Holder, Charrell Brown, Tyrese Weathers, Serenity Finley, Clifton Finley, Jr. and Charrezz Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Willie Carter, Sr. and Cora Carter; one son, Antonio "Jabbar" Chandler; one sister, Emma Catherine Armstong; and five brothers, Willie Carter, Jr., Thomas "Bird" Carter, Sr., Charles Carter, Sr. Eugene "Pimp" Carter and Harry Glenn Carter, Sr.
