Dorothy Ruth "Dot" Berry was born July 11, 1956 in Anniston, Alabama to the parentage of the late Arthur Hardy, Jr. and Ella Mae Berry. At an early age "Dot" accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and began to fellowship at Glenn Addie Baptist Church located in her community. She attended Anniston City Schools. She was employed several years by Western Sizzlin and Ryan's Family Steak House. "Dot" worked faithfully as a volunteer in her community and for many years during Christams did community service for the Salvation Army. Because of her love of children, she became the "neighborhood babysitter".

On May 11, 2013, while at UAB, our devoted mother, grandmother, daughter and sister hearkened to her Master's call, bidding her into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Hardy, Jr; a brother, Victor Berry; a sister, Bonnie Kirksey; her grandparents, Herbert and Clara Berry: Arthur and Rosie Hardy, Sr.; a brother-in-law, James Robinson, Jr.; and special friends, Robert Washington and Johnny Henderson.

"Dot" leaves to cherish her memories: two devoted sons: Phillip (Henry Pottard) Berry of Anniston, Alabama and Michael (Sharonda) Berry of Oxford, Alabama; two devoted daughters, Jacquline (Joseph) Mundine of Houston, Texas and Angela Berry of Anniston, Alabama; one granddaughter, A'Myah Berry of Oxford, Alabama; two grandsons, Phillip and Brandon Mundine, both of Houston, Texas; her mother, Ella Mae Berry of New York, New York; one brother, Dewayne Berry of New York, New York; five sisters, Mary Robinson, Teresa Berry, Victoria Berry, all of New York, New York, Patricia Berry of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and Minister Betty (Lenon) McDonald of Anniston, Alabama; a sister Peggy (Ronald) Peoples of Anniston, Alabama; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
