Dwayne Stewart was born on November 5, 1950 in Anniston, Alabama o the late John H. Acklin, Jr. and Iona Finney Acklin. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Murray Temple CME Church. Later in life Dwaynemoved his membership to the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church where he remained an active and faithful member until he was called from his earthly home.
He was a graduate of Cobb Avenue High School, Class of 1969. Following high school, Dwayne served in the United States Army for two years and later joined the United States Army Reserve. Following his military career, he was employed at the Anniston Army Depot, where he retired after 40 years. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 0312.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his son, Tarvers Stewart; his parents, John and Iona Acklin; and a sister, Betty Acklin. His memories whill be cherished by: his son, Jarmarco Stewart; three sisters, Dr. Earlene (Dr. John) Legion, Charlotte Acklin Nealy and Sandra Acklin; three nephews, Preston Golston, Eric Golston and Cederick Collins; a very special friend, Daniel Lowe; and a host of other relatives and friends.
