Elmira T. Davis was born on January 2, 1936 in Greensboro, Alabama to the late C. Tabb and Susie Pope. She confessed Christ at an  age while in Greensboro. She later moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and then to Anniston, Alabama, where she was a graduate of Cobb High School. She joined Bethel Missonary Baptist Church and later united with the Inner City Ministries. In her later years, she joined the Living Waters Ministry, where she was the mother of the church, until her homegoing on October 1, 2015.

For many years, Sister Davis was an insurance agent for Protective Industrial Insurance Company. She later worked for Shaw Food Services as a supervisor in the food industry.

She was preceded in death by: her brother, Louis Hanible and sister, Dorothy Long. She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons, Phinizy Tabb, Darryl Davis and Dennis (Shelia) Davis; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
