Ms. Erma Dell Gooden was born to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. and Ella Birdsong on March 4th, 1940. Erma was a 1958 graduate of Ophelia Hill High School in Munford, Alabama.

She was employed for a short time with Imperial Redding. Leaving industrial employment entirely, she devoted the remainder of her life to be a loving wife and mother. She was united in bonds of matrimony to Mr. Franklin D. Gooden on December 3, 1972 and to this union one child was born, a son.

She departed this life on Monday, January 31st 2022 at her home in Munford, Alabama. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Mr. Franklin D. Gooden.

Those left to cherish her memories: one son, Franklin (April) Gooden of Munford, AL; one sister, Ada McElderry of Piedmont, AL; two grandchildren, Ava and Skyla Gooden of Munford, AL; three brothers-in-law, Warren (Everlena) Gooden, Charles Gooden and Calvin Cunningham; six sisters-in-law, Thelma Birdsong, Mary Byrdsong, Mary Lee Gooden, Delois Byrdsong, Yvonne Arnold and Mary N. Gooden; a special niece and caregiver, Carolyn Bell; special helpers, Bernadine Gooden, Flossie Chatman (Niece) and Lisa Esparza; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
