Eunice Marie Freeman Prothro was born October 8, 1922 to the union of the late Robert and Eula Mae Freeman. She was the oldest of three children born to this union. On May 3, 2013 she passed peacefully in the presence of her son, Wadell, his wife Robbie and Chaplin Ron Daniels of Wellstar Community Hospice. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Bethel Methodist Church in Heflin, Alabama. Later she united with the Rising Star United Methodist Church was she was a faithful member until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Precious Prothro Wright of Phoenix City, AL; her sons, Leartis and Kenneth Prothro of Hobson City, AL, Oliver (Frances) Prothro of Pearland, TX, Willie Prothro of Harvest, AL, Bobby Prothro of Philadelphia, PA, James (Donna) Prothro of Fayetteville, GA, Dennis (Stephanie) Prothro of Upper Marlboro, MD and Wadell (Robbie) Prothro of Lithia Springs, GA; a sister, Constance F. Beavers of Anniston, AL; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Young, Mary Dothard and Hattie Dothard; twenty-six grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
