Flossie Bell Lanier was born on July 31, 1932 in Lincoln, Alabama to the parentage of Tessie and Amanda Little. She confessed Christ at an early age at the Cave Springs Baptist Church in Lincoln, Alabama and later joined the Greater Thankful Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama, where she was an active member. Her ministries included: being a Sunday School teacher (working with the children), the Matrons Society, the Nurse's Guild, the Graduation Committee and singing in the choir.

She met and married Prince Edward Lanier. This devoted union was blessed with 57 wonderful years of marriage and 3 beautiful children.

She received her education at St. Mary Elementary School, Lincoln Jr. High School and Talladega County Trade School, where she graduated in 1953. During her studies, she enjoyed many extracurricular activities, including basketball, softball, cheerleading and band.

She was employed by McCord's Grocery Store for over 28 years before retiring. She also worked as a poll worker for the elections and as a kindergarten teacher.

On the morning of May 12, 2025 Flossie answered the Master's call. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Prince Edward Lanier; her parents, Tessie and Amanda Little; one granddaughter, Kailani Lanier; and two brothers, Jesse Little and Issac Little.

Flossie leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughters, Carolyn (Dennis) Gibson and Linda (James) Wright; one son, Colonel (Retired) Tracy (DeShelia) Lanier; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Almeta Swain, Tessie M. Peterson and Harriet Gover; special friends, Gwen Hicks, Eddie Noye Satcher, Odis Burton and Dornell Clay; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
