Frank Edward Akles, Jr. was born on July 20, 1936 in Cleburne County, Alabama to Claudie Jane and Frank Edward Akles, Sr. Brother Akles accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Oak Grove AME Church in Newell, Alabama, where he was a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. He later began a career as a professional machinist. In his spare time he enjoyed singing with local quartets such as The Southern Belles and The Delta Aires.

Frank Akles, Jr. was truly blessed. On October 22, 2013, at the age of 77, he departed this life at the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. Loving memories remain with: his sons, Kelvin (Chandra) Akles and Trent (Thenda) Akles; his sister Erma D. Akles; his wife, Jacqueline Akles; six grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a host of loving family, friends and neighbors.
