Fred Lee Cook, Jr. was born to the late Fred Lee Cook, Sr. and Elizabeth Swain Cook on July 10, 1953 in Anniston, Alabama. Fred passed away on January 5, 2018 at Regional Medical Center.

He attended Cobb High School and graduated with the class of 1972. He was known for his skills in football, where he played defensive linebacker. Fred enjoyed life. He loved dancing and making people laugh. He was a die-hard Alabama fan.

Fred worked as a floor technician at Anniston Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville Nursing Home, Gadsden Regional Hospital and Stringfellow Hospital, just to name a few.

Fred leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, Nijer M. Gaston of Anniston, Alabama; two sisters, Juliette S. Robinson and Shirley F. O'Hara, both of Anniston, Alabama; one half-sister, Edwina Blackwell of Cleveland, Ohio; three nieces, Dwendyl E. Carpenter of Stockdale, Georgia, Keely Holloway and Kendra Robinson, both of Anniston, Alabama; two nephews, Rodriques Andre Holloway and Sidney A. Robinson, both of Anniston, Alabama; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles; and a special friend, Carolyn Rudolph of Anniston, Alabama.

Fred was preceded in death by: his parents, Fred and Elizabeth Cook, Sr.; one sister, Joyce E. Carpenter; two half-brothers, Fred Embry and Herman Lee Cook.
