Hullon "Clyde"Tyus was born on August 17, 1943 to the parentage of Willie James and Matilda Motley Tyus. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Greater Thankful Baptist Church. Hullon graduated from Cobb Avenue High School in 1962. In 1963, he was united holy matrimony to Gloria Jean Pitts; to this union four children were born.

"Clyde" departed this life on June 3, 2015 at the Norhteast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Willie Bell Marshall and Patricia Bolton; and one brother, Ralph Tyus.

Hullon leaves to cherish his loving memories: his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Gloria P. Tyus of Anniston, Alabama; his children, Hullon (Vickie) Tyus, Jr. of Columbus. Georgia, Shederick Dewayne (Betty) Tyus of Anniston, Alabama, Aretha (Errol) Tyus of Anchorage, Alaska and Sidney Cornelius (Jamilar) Tyus of Anniston, Alabama; one brother, Terry (Brenda C.) Tyus of Anniston, Alabama; one sister, Brenda A. (Paul) Zeigler of Anniston, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Roberta Tyus and Fannie Mae Wayne; two brothers-in-law, George Bolton and Earnest (Jeanette) Pitts; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
