Ida Mae Phillips was born to the parentage of George and Minnie Lee Turner on November 9, 1919. She confessed Christ and united with the Seventeenth Street Baptist Church. She later united with Zion Temple Ministries. She met and married Jeffery Phillips, Sr. and to this union four children were born.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; her daughter; a granddaughter; her parents; and all nine of her siblings. Cherishing her memories are: her son, Edward H. Phillips; her daughter, Ollie Jo Forbes; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great, great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
