Jerrell K. "Jeri K." Godwin was born on December 29, 1952 in Talladega, Alabama to the parentage of Hugh P. and Liler M. Minniefield. She confessed Christ and was a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Travis E. Godwin and to this union three children were born. She was employed by Martin's until her health begin to fail.

She departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Antonio D. Godwin of Munford, Alabama, Terica A. Godwin and Tasheria E. Godwin, both of Atlanta, Georgia; her granddaughter, Tiyana K. Cross; her sisters, Wilfort Hall ,Mae Hall, both of Anniston, Alabama, JoAnn (Thomas) Truss of Munford, Alabama,Sandra (Donald) Thomas of Columbia, South Carolina, Ollie J. Simmons of Talladega,Alabama,and Loreen Bell of Detriot, Michigan; stepsister, Ieshia (Jerome) Sabre of Anniston, Alabama ;an adopted sister, Rosa M. Moon of Munford, Alabama; and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
