Jerry Satcher, Sr. was born February 4, 1944 to the late Irene Satcher and his loving grandparents the late Lester and Lessie Satcher.
Jerry attended the Anniston, AL public school system, mostly enjoying his high school years. His love for sports and popularity made this gentle giant a high school name, affectionately known as "Satchmo". During his tenure at Cobb Avenue High School, Jerry was inducted into the Hall of Fame and graduated in 1963.
Jerry was employed with various water piping companies and spent the later years of his employment with United Defense, formerly FMC, for over 28 years.
Jerry loved the Lord and gave his life to Christ early. He served God faithfully through various ministries. After being ordained as a Deacon by the late Bishop Ward, he helped his wife, Pastor Patricia Satcher establish New Beginnings Ministry, where they served for over 15 years. Shortly after, Jerry united with Kingdom Place Ministries where Apostle Marcus Dunn serves as Senior Pastor & Founder.
Jerry was truly a family man. He enjoyed working in his garden. He loved cooking and his favorite dessert was carrot cake.
On Tuesday April 13, 2021, Jerry Satcher, Sr. transitioned to be with the Lord. Jerry Satcher, Sr. leaves behind; his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia Satcher; his sons, Jerry Jr (Torina), Juan (Carol), Kenneth (Tanya) and Roderick. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren whose cheeks he bit and pinched often; seven great grandchildren whom he adored; and a host of relatives whom he loved and cherished dearly.
