John Thomas Pope, Jr. was born on May 25, 1940 in Childersburg, Alabama to the parentage of John Thomas Pope, Sr. and Nina Mae Pope.

Mr. Pope was a dedicated member of the Greater Thankful Baptist Church. He also served as an Elks Lodge member. He is a retiree of General Motors Company in Detroit, Michigan. He was an avid golfer and bowler and he loved to travel.

"Junior Pope" leaves to cherish his precious memories: his son, Frederick (Linda) McClure of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Tujuaner Renay Fields of Warner Robins, Georgia and Regina McNeil of Charleston, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
