L.B. Lauderdale was born November 24, 1937, in Goodwater, Alabama, to the late Harvey Lauderdale and Beulah Edwards "Hosie". He departed this life to receive his heavenly reward on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

He was educated in the Clay County School System, where he graduated from Clay County High School in 1957. After high school, he met and married the love of his life, Ruth, and together they built a beautiful life. They later moved to Anniston, where he planted his roots and began raising his family. He worked for the Pipe Shop. Several years later, he started his own business, "Lauderdale Construction Company". He was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved and supported his children and grandchildren.

He confessed Christ at an early age. After relocating to Anniston, he united with Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. The impact he left on those in his life is immeasurable. He was never short on love, life lessons, advice, or words of encouragement. He was never at a loss for words. In his early years, he loved fishing and hunting. Later, he enjoyed sitting on the porch, talking on the phone, and just enjoying life.

L.B. was preceded in death by: his wife, Ruth Lauderdale; one son, Herbert Calvin Bowman; his parents, Harvey Lauderdale and Beulah Edwards "Hosie"; three sisters, Sarah Taylor, Drucilla Davis, and Dorothy Mae Thomas; two brothers, Willie Lauderdale and Eugene Lauderdale; and two sons-in-law, Roger Truss and Willie Long.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Felicia Truss and Vernessa Long; two sons, Claude Dean Wilson (Mary) and Deacon Willie B.  Lauderdale (Sherry); fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great, great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Thelma Lauderdale and Harvey Lauderdale, Jr.; three sisters, Gladys Harrison, Beulah Chapman and Barbara Ann Moon; one sister-in-law, Christine Conway; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
