Lonnie Gene Morgan was born in White Plains, Alabam to the parentage of Rev. Marvin S. and Vearl L. Morgan. He received his education at Choccolocco Elementary School and Calhoun County Training School. In 1962, he moved to Piedmont, Alabama. He met and married Virginia Prater and they were blessed with four children.

He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Tina Morgan; his parents; one grandson, Anthony ; one sister, Geraldine Miller; and three brothers, Will Houston, Marcus Morgan and Joel Morgan.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his children, Jacqueline (Donnie) Jackson of Racine, Wisconsin, Carole Morgan of Shervtz, Texas and Lonnie Bernard (Tamiko) Morgan of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; his siblings, Clarence (Lela) Morgan of Auburn, Alabama, Sep (Pat) Morgan of Abilene, Texas, Charles Morgan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Billy (Gwendolyn) Morgan of Piedmont, Alabama, Elouse (Emma) Morgan of Peru, Indiana, Robert Morgan of Thailand and Marva (Ben) Grimes of Durham, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Iesha, Sherman, DeAndre', Quintele, Tierra and Ariana; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
