Louise Stephens, "Mother Louise" began life's journey on September 1, 1915. She was born to the parentage of Queen and Johnson Taylor of Autauga County, Alabama. Both parents preceded her in death. At a very young age, she accepted Christ as her Savior. She settled in Anniston in the 1940s and became a devoted member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

"Mother Louise" married James Stephens in 1945 and remained his wife until the time of his passing in April of 1987. She worked as a home health aide until she stopped working to care for her older sister, Marjane Steele.

On Thursday, February 25, 2016, a loving mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and aunt answered the Master's call at the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. God, in His perfect time, in His special way, picked from our midst this sweet soul and added her to His heavenly garden, where her spirit will bloom forever with: her husband; her sisters, Marjane Steele, Lucille Smith and Myrtle Davis; her son, Bennie Lee Taylor; her grandchildren, Bennie Jr. and Janice Taylor Young; and her great grandson, Ronald Young, Jr.

The beautiful memories of "Mother Louise" will forever live in the hearts of: her loving daughter-in-law, Hassie B. Taylor of Anniston, Alabama; her granddaughter, Rosie Chappell of Prattville, Alabama; her grandson, Maurice (Shelia) Taylor of Oakland, California; eleven great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; a devoted nephew, Johnson (Jimmie) Taylor of Smyrna, Georgia; and a host of relatives and friends.
