Moses Springer, Jr. was born on December 9, 1935 to the parentage of the late Rev. Moses Springer and Willie Mae Springer in Cleburne County, Alabama. Mr. Springer graduated from Calhoun County Training School in Hobson City, Alabama in 1954. After graduating, he served in the United States Air Force. He attended Ayers State Trade School and Gadsden State College.

He was a member of Rising Star United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed. Mr. Springer served as a council member for the town of Hobson City. He was united in holy matrimony on August 28, 1993 to Loretta Springer in Andalusia, Alabama.

Mr. Springer departed this life on October 30, 2013 at the Golden Living Healthcare Center in Oxford, Alabama. Memories will forever remain with: his wife, Loretta Springer of Anniston, Alabama; his children, Renee Springer of Anniston, Alabama, Deneese Springer of Laverne, Tennessee, Romanoff Springer and Andrea Springer, both of Carrolton, Georgia, Anthony J. Johnson of Raleigh, North Carolina, Michael D. Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; his brother, Johnny (Renee) Springer of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
