Obituary

Nathaniel Elston was born on October 15, 1955, to Joetta Porter Elston and Clarence Elston, Jr.  At an early age, he confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Springhill Baptist Church of Eastaboga. He later became a devoted member of Greater Thankful Missionary Baptist Church of Anniston, where he served faithfully on the Usher Board, sang in the Men's Choir, and actively participated in the Men's Fellowship.

Nathaniel attended Wellborn High School and continued his education at Alabama State University, of which he was a proud alumnus. Nathaniel enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially while playing Bid Whiz and shooting pool. He had a boisterous personality and an unforgettable laugh that could fill a room, and he brought smiles to those around him and left lasting memories with everyone he encountered.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by: his parents, Joetta Porter Elston and Clarence Elston, Jr.; his sisters, Teresa Ross and Tawanna LaCount; a brother, Dennis Elston; and other loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a loving companion, Felecia Brown; his beloved children, Tamika Davis of Memphis, Roy Elston (Santrel)l of Miami, Nathaniel Elston of Jacksonville, Kealon Fomby (Indiaa) of Anniston, and Matthew Elston (Anna) of Jacksonville; one sister, Gwendolyn Gray of Anniston; a brother, Rufus Elston; nine grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love, wisdom, and kindness he shared.

Though Nathaniel has departed this earthly life, his legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
