Mr. Otis C. Murray, Jr. was born on April 17, 1936, to the late Otis C. Murray, Sr and his wife, Willie L. Wilson Murray in Munford, Alabama. Otis attended Cobb Avenue High School in Anniston, Alabama and after 43 years of dedicated service retired from Ryder Transportation Services. He remained a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Doris Ann Brown Murray on December 14, 1956 in Jamaica, New York and to this union three sons were born.

He departed this life on May 21, 2013 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Doris Ann Murray; his parents Otis and Willie L. Murray; hsi siblings, Darnell Murray, Roosevelt Murray, Willie Mae Murray, and Elizabeth Burke; a grandchild, Desmond Murray; and a great-grandchild, Brooklynne Murray. He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Randy Murray of Anniston, Alabama, Ronald (Debra) Murray of Grovetown, Georgia and Rickey (Desiree) Murray of Prattville, Alabama; two sisters, Thelma Handley of Anniston, Alabama and Doris Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers, David S. Murray of Columbus, Mississippi and Larry (Janett) Murray of Chicage, Illinois; three grandchildren, Stephanie Murray, Ronald (Latoya) Murray and Eric Murray; three step-grandchildren, Ludrena Rodriquez, Corey L. Legette and Nakeysha Legette; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He also leaves two special friends, Deacon Gerald Wilson and Rev. Levi Lyles.
