Mr. Rickey J. Murray was born n October 7, 1960 to the parentage of Otis C. Murray, Jr. and Doris Ann Brown Murray in Anniston, Alabama.

Rickey received his high school education at Anniston High School in Anniston, Alabama and was a member of the proud "Class of 1979". He also attended both Auburn and Jacksonville State University. He was employed by the United States Air Force and the Department of Veterans Affairs and after 31 years of devoted service, he retired. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Rickey was united in holy matrimony to Desiree Allen on February 9, 1985 at Maxwell Air Force Base. From this union came two sons: Eric and Desmond.

Mr. Murray departed this life on January 18, 2015 at his home in Prattville. He was preceded in death by: his son, Desmond; his parents, Otis C. Murray and Doris Ann Brown Murray; aunts and uncles, Darnell Murray, Roosevelt Murray, Willie Mae Murray, Mary E. Burke, and Kattie Goodman; and his great-niece, Brooklynne Murray.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Desiree; his son, Eric; two brothers, Randy Murray and Ronald (Debra) Murray; a brother-in-law, Frank Allen; aunts and uncles, Thelma Hadley; Doris Lewis, Davis Murray and Larry (Janette) Murray;and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
