Mrs. Ruby Christian was born in Talladega, Alabama on September 2, 1936 to the Booker T. and Mary Borden. She was the first of nine children born to this union.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama for sixty years. Mrs. Christian served as head manager of the kithchen staff at Coosa Valley Youth Services for twenty years until her retirement in 1994.

Mrs. Christian silently and peacefully departed this life on July 8, 2014 in the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. Loving memories will remain with: her sons, John A. Borden and Frank  C. Christian, both of Anniston; a daughter, Catina Christian Cunningham and a special son-in-law, Daryl Cunningham; five sisters; three brothers; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church members and friends.
