Rev. Scott Hayes Bolton was born on July 27, 1920 to the parentage of George Washington and Betty Lour Bolton in Coweta County, Georgia. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church, where he served faithfully and received hiscall into the ministry. Rev. Bolton served as pastor of the Mt. Cleveland Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama for 28 years on the first and third Sundays and Pine Grove Baptist Church in Sylacauga, Aalbama on the second and fourth Sundays. He was united in holy matrimony to Marion H. Christian and to this union fourteen children were born.
His wife of 66 years, two daughters, six brothers and one sister preceded him death. He departed this life on February 6, 2013 at his residence. He leaves to cherish his memory: nine daughters, Barbara J. Buullock, Geraldine (Steven) Merriweather, Betty Kirkland, Linda G. Bolton and Carol Bush, all of Anniston, Alabama, Sarah (Ellis) Handy of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary L. Nix of Hanover Park, Illinois, Vivian (Arthur) Ward of Birmingham, Alabama and Everlena (Vinson) Curry of Chicago, Illinois; three sons, Edward (Kathleen) Bolton, David L. Bolton and Alvin (Mary) Bolton of Attalla, Alabama; one godson, forty-seven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Carter, Katie R. (Arthur) Wrigth, Flora M. (Joe) Underwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
