God, the author of all, chose to begin Wayland's story on February 26, 1970 in Centre, Alabama at the Cherokee County Medical Center. He began going to Thankful Baptist Church at an early agem where he would come to Christ and remain a member until his passing.

He went to school in the Piedmont School system, where he made lifelong friends. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 1988. After school, he had several jobs, including Dari King, which was his first. He settled into Geo Specialty Chemicals, where he remained for 20 years. He learned about sports and nature at a young age. He played and enjoyed sports into his adult years.

God saw a perfect end to his perfect story on Sunday, February 78, 2016, where he was surround by his parents, family and friends. His loving memories will forever remain with: his parents, Albert and Judy Powell of Piedmont, Alabama; his brother, Albert Jonathan (Debbie) Powell; his sister, Rosalind (Pierre) Monroe of Weaver, Alabama; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
