On July 18, 2013 our beloved Fred was called home to be with the Lord. Mr. Wilfred Jay "Big Fred" Cunningham was born September 2, 1996. He was blessed to have his loving parents, the late Mr. Wilmer Cunningham and Mrs. Annie Ruth Cunningham. He grew up in the Centre, Jacksonville and Anniston communities.He earned his education from Saks High School, where he played football, ran track and sung in the choir.
Fred was a well known disc jockey and he loved music. He played the guitar in his church, First Missionary Baptist Church, Munford and for many other churches and organizations in the surrounding areas. Mr. Cunningham worked for years for Cooper Chevrolet as a car salesman and in recent years was a faithful employee of Colonial Chevrolet in Talladega, Alabama. He was known throughout the Jacksonville, Anniston and Talladega communities as a joyful, smiling person with a cheerful and happy attitude. He was a loving, thoughtful person who helped anyone in need.
Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Wilmer Cunningham; his recently deceased mother, Mrs. Annie R. Cunningham; his brother, Michael Carr; his beloved grandmother, Carrie F. Trimble; and his aunt, Ruth C. Finley. He leaves cherished memories to: his children, Cordaryl Devon Cunningham, Sr. of Jacksonville, Alabama, Kelsey Cunningham of Gadsden, Alabama, Shaun Wilson, Jr., Nicholas Wilson and Stephan Wilson, all of Anniston, Alabama; grandchildren, Caylie Cunningham, Cordaryl Cunningham, Jr., Caliyaah Cunningham, Amiyah Wilson, and Ja'Carion Wilson; his sisters, Winifred Ann Cunningham of Jacksonville, Alabama, Jenny Carr of Opelika, Alabama and Linda Gates of LaGrange, Georgia; his brother, Tracy Carr (Angela) of Jacksonville, Alabama; a goddaughter, Ausha Robinson of Jacksonville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
