Mrs. Alberta Jemison Wynn began life's journey on May 16,1932 to the parentage of Gus & Bessie Jemison in Hartselle, Alabama.
At an early, early age, she confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, uniting with the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. She was a very active member during her tenure with Sweet Home, participating in the Women's Missionary, serving as The Administrator of the Kitchen/Culinary Department and serving on other auxiliaries as well.
Alberta was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to the late Artie Lee Wynn. This union was blessed with the birth of six children. They later assumed the responsibility of two nieces that they loved and raised as their very own.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, the late Artie Lee Wynn; her parents, the late Gus and Bessie Jemison; one daughter, the late Mary Jane Wynn Mitchell; one great-grandson, the late Kristian M. Perry; and all of her siblings.
On Friday. June 11, 2021, she surrendered her mortal life and took on immortality at NHC Healthcare in Anniston, Alabama. Loving memories of Alberta will forever be cherished by: her children, Earlie (Herman) Douthard of Ohatchee, Alabama, Helen Wynn of Rochester, New York, Harvey Lee Wynn of Munford, Alabama, Gwendolyn (Eddie) McEwen of Madison, Alabama, Vanessa (Charles) Chatman of Oxford, Alabama, Priscilla (Darryl) Hammonds of Huntsville, Alabama and Towanda (Jay) Foster of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son-in-love, Reginald L. Mitchell of Hopkins, South Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; a special friend and devoted caregiver for many years, Ms. Janet Davis of Munford, Alabama; a special and cherished friend regarding candy and baked sweet potatoes on many visits Ms. Carol Williams of Anniston, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
