Brandi Arnold Obituary

Mrs. Brandi LaShaun (Davis) Arnold was born March 15, 1982 in Jacksonville, AL to Jacqueline “Jackie” Carolyn Davis and the late Douglas Lamar “Coach” Davis, Sr.

Brandi spent most of her formative years in Jacksonville, AL and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 2000. She studied Child Development at Auburn University in Auburn, AL and later continued her studies at Prince George's Community College in Largo, MD.

Brandi was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church until she graduated high school. After college, Brandi returned to Jacksonville, AL, where she and her family eventually joined the First Baptist Church in Eastwood. She was a faithful member who deeply loved her church family.

In 2002, Brandi gave birth to her son, Christopher Isaac Davis. She married the love of her life, Zeno Marquise Arnold, in 2010. One child, Destiny Zenobia Arnold, was born from this union in 2016.

Brandi loved the Lord and she loved gospel music. She always looked forward to Sunday worship with her First Baptist Church family. When she was no longer able to attend church in person, she regularly watched church services online with her mom. She often asked her mom to read and discuss Bible scriptures with her. Scriptures about God’s love were Brandi’s favorite.

Brandi was fun-loving and always smiling. She loved to go on random road trips with her husband. She was always ready to visit a wig store because she loved wigs! Brandi absolutely adored her family. Zeno, Christopher, and Destiny were everything to her. She was also a doting grandmother and auntie. She enjoyed almost daily phone conversations with her mom that lasted for hours.

Brandi loved attending cookouts or other casual gatherings. Olive Garden’s shrimp alfredo was her favorite restaurant dish but nothing compared to her husband’s Boston butt, which he cooked for her often. Brandi and her late father (Coach Davis) shared the same birthday. She was a daddy’s girl, and, like her dad, she loved Dr. Pepper. Brandi also shared her mom’s love of Lifetime movies. When Brandi was home relaxing, you would almost always find her posting photos of her family on Facebook and/or binge watching Grey’s Anatomy.

After a 15-year battle with the debilitating disease, Spinocerebellar Ataxia, at the age of 40, Brandi peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal life on May 16, 2022, at her home in Jacksonville, AL. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, “Zeno” Marquise Arnold of Jacksonville, AL; son, Christopher Isaac Davis of Wedowee, AL; daughter, Destiny Zenobia Arnold of Jacksonville, AL; and grandchildren, Christopher Isaac Davis, Jr of Lanett, AL; twins, Caden and Chadrion Davis of Wedowee, AL; and stepchildren Renae Nelson, Elijah Arnold, Angel Arnold, and Alexia Arnold.

Brandi will also be deeply missed by her beloved mother, Jacqueline “Jackie” Carolyn Davis of Mobile, AL; sister, Jeronda Burley (Ernest Burley, Jr) of Odenton, MD; brother, Douglas Lamar Davis, Jr of Norcorss, GA; niece, Naomi Miracle Brielle Burley; nephew, Ernest Burley, III of Odenton, MD; childhood friends, Dorothy McDermott of Jacksonville, AL and Jorgenia “Gina” Booker Holmes of Fairfax, VA; and a large extended family including a host of aunts and uncles: Gene Goodman of Anniston, AL; Jesse Lewis Davis and Nona Davis of Lompoc, CA; Rollie Steele of Mobile, AL; Robert and Jean Steele of Honolulu, HI; Toren Steele of Douglasville, GA; William “Billy” Steele of Montgomery, AL; and their children and grandchildren.

Brandi was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Lamar “Coach” Davis, Sr. of Anniston, AL; uncle, James Lee Steele, Sr. of Douglasville, GA, and aunts, Joanne Goodman of Anniston, AL; Virginia Wilson Steele of Glendale, IL; and Earline V. Steele of Montgomery, AL.

May Brandi’s trademark and most infectious smile continue to brighten our hearts in the times to come.
