Mrs. Georgia Mae Miller Brown was born December 14, 1931 in Talladega, Alabama. She was the fifth of ten children born to the late Robert and Nannie P. Miller.
She was educated in Talladega County School System. Mrs. Brown confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Munford, AL. Mrs. Brown served in her church in many capacities that included Deaconess, Missionary Society, Usher Board, Senior, Church Treasure and most of all she was faithfully dedicated to the Sweet Home Youth Choir as their Supervisor for many years.
Mrs. Brown was employed at Fort McClellan, Oxford Cleaners, Ophelia S. Hill High School Cafeteria, Anniston Memorial Hospital, Britts Department Store and Sweet Orr sewing factory.
She had many professions which included loving caregiver, doctor, counselor, and family nurse. She gave unconditionally from her heart to anyone in need. Her greatest gift was love. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late James O. Brown on August 25, 1955. To this union one daughter, Carolyn, was born.
She transitioned this life Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, AL. Her memories will forever be cherished by: her loving and devoted daughter, Carolyn (Pastor Dennis) McKinney of Munford, AL; four grandchildren, Robert David, Alejandro (Libby) Goldson, Gabriel (Brittany) McKinney and Dontavius McKinney; six great-grandchildren, Shanisty David, Aubrey McKinney, Darius Lester, Ivy David, Lylah and Avery Goldson. Other survivors include: her sister, Alva Chatman of Munford, AL; sisters-in-law, Better Miller, Mary Miller of Munford, AL, Johnnie Miller of Hobson City, AL, Willie Mae McQueen, Jean Alice Townsend, of Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law, Robert Bush of Anniston, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews, family members and friends. She had a special motherly love for Melissa Saffold, the mother of Robert’s children.
