Laura Dale (Teague) Barlow

Laura Dale Barlow was born on July 5, 1953 to the union of Annie Laura Teague and M.L. Maddox in the city of Piedmont, Alabama. She met and married Johnny Barlow.

She loved to be outside doing yard work, planting her garden and enjoying the sunshine. When she was caught up on those chores, she loved to go to Georgia to play the lottery. She would go far and beyond to help her family and friends, whether it was talking about everyday life or cooking good food. She lived in Anniston for a time, then Jacksonville for ten years before settling back down in her hometown of Piedmont.

On Monday, January 30, 2023, Laura answered the Master’s call at the Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Johnny Barlow; her father, M.L. Maddox; her mother, Annie Laura Teague; and her brothers, Jimmy “Bubba” Cobb and Melvin Maddox.

Treasured and precious memories will forever remain with: her sons, James (Tryphenia) Teague and Carlos Barlow (Jessica Sims); her daughter, Yolanda (Michael Jr.) Ryles; her granddaughters, Sharrecca Teague an d Carmen Teague; one great-granddaughter, Nali Peyton Fox; her brothers, Marvel (Laura) Brewster, David Maddox, Kenneth (Daphanie) Teague, Billy (Ann) Cobb, Ivan (Sanetra) Teague and Tim (Marie) Maddox; sisters, Myra Coleman, Clara Bradford, Ida (Ramon) Guzman, and Shannon Maddox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
