Mrs. Naurrese Burnett Phillips was born September 28, 1928 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Iola Cooper Nickerson and the late Nathaniel Boggs, Sr. Naurrese transitioned to her heavenly home on May 5, 2020 at the age of 91.
She was educated in the Anniston public school system and graduated from Cobb High School. She also attended several business schools affiliated with her career. She was baptized and confirmed at All Saints Catholic Church in Anniston, Alabama, where she was a faithful member. She was married to the late James Temple Burnett, and out of this union was born James (Chauncy) Demetrious Burnett.
She leaves to cherish her memories and keep her legacy alive: one beloved son, James Demetrious Burnett and wife Rebecca of Tallahassee, FL; two grandsons: Demetrious Antwan Burnett of Tallahassee, FL and Nathan James Burnett of Jacksonville, FL; one great granddaughter, Demetria Alana Burnett of Tallahassee, FL; two stepdaughters: Syrenia Burnett Mears of Philadelphia, PA and Barbara Alice Burnett Johnson of Fort Washington, MD; one stepson, James Burnett III of Wilkes Barre, PA; two supportive women who stood by her side throughout the years, Charlotte Acklin Nealy (goddaughter) of Anniston, AL, and Lynette Boggs Perez (very special niece) of San Antonio, TX; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Dr. Nathaniel Boggs, Jr., Montgomery, AL and Mr. John Allen Reed, Sr., Anniston, AL.
