Ms. Twauna Denise LaCount was born on May 4, 1963, in Anniston, Alabama to the late Joe Etta Elston Porter Thomas an Clarence Elston, Jr. Twauna confessed Chirst as her Lord and Savior and united with the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an earl age, where she was a faithful member. Later, she moved her membership to the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Twauna attended Walter Welborn High School, where she played basketball and sang in the school choir. Upon graduation, she attended Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Office Administration. She was then employed as a legal secretary working for attorney Marcus Reid and for attorney Cleophus Thomas. Later Twauna was employed by the State of Alabama and worked at the Calhoun County Courthouse as a district court clerk.
Twauna is preceded in death by: her parents, Clarence Elston, Jr., Joe Etta Elston Porter Thomas and Elisha Thomas; one brother, Dennis Elston; grandparents, Charlie and Louise Porter and Clarence and Inez Elston, Sr.
Twauna leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Lavontae (Noelani) LaCount and Kiara LaCount; her siblings, Gwendolyn Gray, Nathaniel Elston, Sr., Teresa Ross, and Rufus Elston; her nieces, Ebony Elston, Tamika Elston, and Tamera Elston; her nephews, Randall (Renae) Gray, Sr., John Ross, Jr., Joshua Ross, Antrell Elston, Roy (Santrell) Elston, Kealon Fomby, Nathaniel Elston, Jr., and Matthew Elston; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
Twauna loved and was loved by many people. She was affectionately known to them as either Momma, Sweet T, T Bone, Maw, Sista, or T. Memories of her will be forever cherished.
