Willie James Young (Bit) was born on November 8, 1947, the fourth of seven children, to the late J. C. and the late Vera Young in Anniston, Alabama. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Liberty Baptist Church.
Willie completed his education at the Calhoun County Training School in 1965. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, California and began working in the airline industry. Then he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia and worked a few years for Delta Air Lines. Before he made his transition on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, he was living in Heflin, Alabama and owned a local business.
Willie loved to laugh, make others laugh, and was always up for a family outing. His sense of humor was undeniable and will never be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Vera Young; siblings, Gloria Richey, Carolyn Walls, and Nita Chatman; grandparents, George and Nettie porter, Sr.; aunts, Earline Carmichael, Jeanette Story, and Agnes porter; and uncles; James Carmichael, Harold Leon Story, Sr., Deacon George “Sonny” Edward porter., Jr. and Clarence Williams.
He leaves the following to cherish his memories: one son, Jabar Richardson of Willingboro, New Jersey; two sisters, Tonya (Jerome) Boyd of Douglasville, Georgia, and Cathy Scott of Anniston, Alabama; one brother, Walter (Jovita) Young of Anniston, Alabama; one aunt, Eunice Williams of Cerritos, California; two grandchildren, Kadira D. Richardson of Baltimore County, Maryland, and Quinnel K. Richardson of Las Vegas, Nevada; a special friend, Betty Milner of Anniston, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
