About Us

Ervin Funeral Chapel was a dream realized by founder and owner Eugene "Gene" Ervin. In 1967, he came to Anniston, Alabama, with little more than a belief and a vision. He believed that if you treat people with dignity and respect, they would remember you. The vision was to establish a funeral home that would set the standard in the funeral service industry. The vision was brought to fruition as he opened Ervin Funeral Home, which was located at 1502 Cooper Avenue.

In later years, Ervin Funeral Home became Ervin Funeral Chapel and relocated to its present location at 1518 Brown Avenue, and the motto was created: "Where Courtesy Dwells and Service Excels".

On May 19, 1997, Eugene "Gene" Ervin was called home to reward, and the second generation took the reins of the family business. Today, the Ervin family proudly carries on the traditions established by their father.
